Graduating from UNM Law School in 1990, Mr. Rasheed spent the first four years of his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Bernalillo County, prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony cases. After leaving the District Attorney’s office, Mr. Rasheed opened his own practice focusing his efforts primarily on criminal law and personal injury. Mr. Rasheed also handles civil litigation.

A significant portion of Mr. Rasheed’s practice involves individuals charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (“DWI”).  As an Assistant District Attorney, he handles over 100 DWI cases per week.  Drawing upon his expertise in both the prosecution and defense of criminal cases, Mr. Rasheed has instructed several Continuing Legal Education seminars for the legal community, multiple training sessions for the Public Defender’s office, and presented at the 2005 new Magistrate Judge training sponsored by the New Mexico Judicial Education Center.  Mr. Rasheed has also lectured to the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association on issues involved in DWI cases and testified before the New Mexico Legislature on proposed laws relating to Criminal, DWI, and Driver License revocation issues.

He has lectured on Motor Vehicle Division License revocation hearings, field sobriety and breath testing, roadblocks, drug recognition evaluator testimony by police officers, and numerous legal and court rule updates.  Mr. Rasheed also testifies annually before the Judiciary Committees of the New Mexico Legislature.
